Iraq Leadership Fellows

Abdulghaffar Hadi is a civil activist from Samawa City, Muthanna Province. He is the President of the Vision for Innovation and Development in Samawa. Abdulghaffar holds B.Sc. in Engineering, and he is pursuing his goal of preserving the cultural heritage of his city. He is participating in the Social Activist Track of Iraq Leadership Fellows 2023.

Abdullah Al-Mashkour is a Civil activist from Baghdad. He works as a Project Coordinator at the Iraqi Travellers Cafe. Abdullah holds BA in Engineering, and he is pursuing his goal of promoting inclusion and bridging the cultural gaps between Iraq and the rest of the world. Abdullah is participating in the Social Activist Track of Iraq Leadership Fellows 2023.

Abrar Sattar Al Issawi is a Civil activist from Ramadi city, Anbar Province. She works as a Director of management at Daleel organization for Democratic Awareness in Anbar. Abrar holds BA in Chemistry Science in addition to TOT, and she is pursuing her goal of achieving peace and contributing to the creation of a healthy environment, starting with the self-peace of the individual, as well as contributing to creating a conscious generation so that it can lead subsequent generations. Abrar is participating in Social Activist Track of Iraq Leadership Fellows 2023.

Ahmed Fathi is a dedicated Projects Manager from the city of Mosul, Nineveh. He has worked with several NGOs as a projects Manager including Mosul Space and Mosul Eye. Ahmed holds a Bachelor degree in Medical Laboratory Technique in addition to being a Google’s certified Project Manager. Ahmed is an IYLEP and UNITAR alumni too, and he is pursuing his goal in learning more about leadership and how to apply it within the Iraqi context to create a positive social change. Ahmed is participating in the Social Activist track of Iraq Leadership Fellows 2023. 

Anfal Fayyad Khalaf is a social activist from Basra. In addition to her work in civil society, Anfal works as an IT Engineer at the South Refineries Company in Basra. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering and is pursuing her goal of promoting women’s participation in civil society and politics among other fields. Anfal is participating in the Social Activist Track from the Iraq Leadership Fellows 2023.

Aqeel Ali Hashim Muhtaroglu is a Political activist from Tuz Khurmatu city, Salahaddin Province. He works as a Branch Vice President at Iraqi Turkmen Front in kirkuk . Aqeel holds BA in nursing college, and he also working in the field of youth organizations that are concerned with youth and student activities and events, where he carries out awareness and education campaigns for the youth and students on various topics. He also organizes scout camps and conducts extensive seminars and conferences, and he is also a member of the Iraqi Nursing Syndicate. Aqeel is participating in Political Candidate Track of Iraq Leadership Fellows 2023.

Asim is a Civil activist from Shirqat City, Salahddin Province. He works as a MEP Engineer at Sinotec co. Assim holds MA in Electrical Engineering, in addition to other certificates in Management and Leadership. He is pursuing his goal of raising awareness among the young Iraqi people about critical social cases. Asim is participating in the Social Activist Track of Iraq Leadership Fellows 2023.

Basta Sirwan is a Civil activist from Sulaymaniyah city, Sulaymaniyah Province. She works as a Project Manager. Basta holds BA in Business Administration in addition to other certificates project management and finance, and she is pursuing her goal in Fellow’s individual/organizational/national goal. Basta is participating in Social Acitivst Track of Iraq Leadership Fellows 2023.

Elaf Mahdi is a Civil activist from Dujil City, Salah AL-Din Province. She works as a teacher at the Ministry of Higher Education. In addition to her activism in digital rights and cyber security, Elaf holds MA in Media. She seeks to achieve her personal goal of understanding the philosophy of leadership and knowing its application mechanisms in the field of work. Elaf is participating in the Social Activist Track of Iraq Leadership Fellows 2023.

Hayder S. Fukaa AL-Khafaje is an Economic and energy researcher activist from Alshaab city, Baghdad Province. He works as an engineer at the ministry of oil. He is also working as an advisor for many companies . Hayder  holds MA in petroleum engineering in addition to other certificates in economics, energy  and climate change, and he is pursuing his goal in taking benefits from other experience in social work, developing personal leadership and management skills, developing my organization and participating in the positive change in our country through the young community. Hayder  is participating in Social Activist Track of Iraq Leadership Fellows 2023.

Hudhaifa Al-Hasso is a civil activist from the city of Mosul in Nineveh Governorate. Hudhaifa Al-Hasso works as a Volunteer with Us Foundation for Relief and Development and the Mosul Heritage Foundation in Nineveh Governorate in the capacity of a social researcher. He also works in the field of community outreach through educational images and influential initiatives in Iraqi society, as he publishes innovative educational images and out-of-the-box ideas on social media.  And on a large scale and take great resonance, especially the idea (the culture officer).  Hudhaifa Al-Hasso holds a high diploma in the field of peacebuilding in addition to certificates in the field of sociology. He seeks to achieve his goal of educating and educating the community through the initiatives he launches from time to time.  Hudhaifa Al-Hasso is participating in the Social Activist Track from the Iraq Leaders Fellowship 2023.

Mahmood Barghashy is a Civil activist from Sinjar city, Nineveh Province. He works as a Founder and Director at Banan Foundation for Sustainable Development. He works as a Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution Trainer, as well as a Human Development Trainer. Mahmood holds Diploma in Nursing in addition to other as well as studying Business management (BAC), and he is pursuing his dream to activate the political participation of youth in Iraq,  Mahmood is participating in Political Candidate Track of Iraq Leadership Fellows 2023.

Majed Shanshuol Al-jeboury is a political activist from Eastern Hamza city, Diwaniya Province. He works as a  founding member at (N.W.M). Majed holds BA in Agricultural Science Engineering, in addition to other certificates he works in the field of human development, where he conducts training and rehabilitation and he is pursuing his dream in Fellow’s establishing a strong and just state. Majed is participating in Political Candidate Track of Iraq Leadership Fellows 2023.

Mohammad Zangana is a human rights activist from Baghdad, specializing in digital rights. Mohammad works in the field of training related to capacity building and digital protection. He has trained many journalists and human rights activists on how to use digital means to protect themselves and their work. Mohammad holds a bachelor’s degree In the Media / Department of Radio and Television Journalism, and it is striving to achieve its goal in the field of promoting human rights principles in society and providing a law that protects human rights defenders in Iraq. Mohammad participates in the social activist course from the Iraq Leaders Fellowship 2023.

Mustafa Al-Shimmari is a political activist from Kadhimiya City, Baghdad. Mustafa is the head of the Orgburo at the Iraqi House Movement (Hirak Al-Bayt Al-Iraqi.) He also works at the Al-Rasheed Center for Development, as a PR Executive. Mustafa believes that resiliency and great will is the only solution for integrating Iraqi youth into the decision-making process. Mustafa is participating in the Political Candidate Track of the Iraq Leadership Fellows 2023.

Noor Kamaran Omer is a Political activist from Sulaimani city, Sulaymaniyah Province. She works as a Relations Specialist at the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan in Sulaimani. Noor holds BA in International Studies from the American University of Iraq-Sulaimani and she is pursuing her goal in fostering a democratic system for Iraq that promotes political inclusivity, economic opportunities, social justice, and environmental stewardship to empower its people and drive sustainable development. Noor is participating in Political Candidate Track of Iraq Leadership Fellows 2023.

Osamah Anwer Mohammed is a Civil activist from Erbil in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. He is the CEO of Balafrreen Travel and Education Services in Erbil. Osamah holds MA in International Relations and Political Science. Osama wrote and published two books in Kurdish about intellectualism, and he is dreaming of institutionalizing Iraq’s political system. Osamah is participating in the Political Candidate Track of Iraq Leadership Fellows 2023.

Rahma Ala’a is a Political activist from Baghdad city, Baghdad Province. She works as a Operations Manager – Coordinator   at UFUQ NGO in Baghdad. RAHMA holds BA in Pharmacist in addition to other certificates in Business Administration Major and Business Development, and she is pursuing her goal in Adding Experiences In Political Major. RAHMA is participating in Political Candidate Track of Iraq Leadership Fellows 2023.

Saad Amer is a political activist from Mosul City, Nineveh Governorate, He is the Executive Director of the Al-Mithaq Foundation for Development and Democracy. Saad also works at the Hoplite Group as a Geopolitical Analyst. Saad holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and he is also studying law. Along with a group of colleagues, Saad works to launch a youth, citizenship-based political venture in Nineveh and the rest of Iraq. Saad is participating in the Political Activist Track from the Iraq Leadership Fellows 2023.

Saja AI Khazail is a civil activist from Najaf. She works as a coordinator at Oma Organization for Human Rights. Saja holds BA in Banking and Financial Sciences,  in addition to other certificates in Human rights, anti-corruption, and peacebuilding. Saja is pursuing her goal of being one of the problem solvers of the social and economic issues to be engaged with the local policymakers. Saja is participating in the Social Activist Track of Iraq Leadership Fellows 2023.

Salih Mahmod is an Economic activist from Mosul city, Ninveveh Province. He works as a CEO at Mosul Space Innovation Hub. Salih holds MA in Business Admistartion  in addition to other certificates in entrepreneurship ecosystem development and technology, and he is pursuing his dream in understanding change from political point of view to match his insights that he gained from working in economic development sector. Salih is participating in Political Candidate Track of Iraq Leadership Fellows 2023.

Zahraa Al-Khazraji is a legal activist from Najaf Governorate. Zahraa works as a social and political capacity-building specialist. She is a co-founder of the Political & Governance Development Academy. Zahraa is also a co-founder at Bawsala for Sustainable Development, where she advocates for human rights. She is participating in the Political Candidate Track of the Iraq Leadership Fellows 2023.
