On May 28, 2022, the ILF held a reunion to gather graduates from the previous cohorts of the program. The event, which was attended by ILF 80 alumni from all over Iraq, provided opportunities for graduates to exchange best practices and knowledge based on their community-level projects. The keynote session, which was titled “Leadership as Practice: Strengthening the Role of Youth in the Reform Process” featured MP Mohammad Shiaa Al-Sudani (the former Minister of Labor and Social Affairs) in addition to Dr. Aqil Mahmoud Karim (Head of the Higher Commission for Coordinating among Provinces) and Ms. Rania Sabah Bakr (Iraq Country Manager at Viamo for IT services).
The annual reunion is an essential part of the ILF’s efforts to build networks and opportunities for alumni long after they have graduated from the program.
